I want to write something, I really do, but I don't know what to say... The game's been over for four and a half hours now, and I still can't put into words my reaction.
It's bliss, sheer bliss, ecstacy, euphoria, i've never felt this way before...ever.
The Red Sox are going to the World Series for the first time in my rememberable life. The perennial underdogs finally came out on top, breaking an 18-year-old streak. Not only did we do it in the most history-making way possible, we did it by getting the reverse sweep against the yankees, the Hated Yankees, the MFY. The Evil Empire has finally crumbled, crumbled to the idiots, the fratboys, the characters.
We didn't do it by buying all the best players, our starting second basemen set the team record for strikeouts this season. We did it with heart, dedication, and an overall belief that, damnit, THIS was the year. Nothing was going to hold us back, not A-Rod, not Jeter, not Steinbrenner, nothing.
We took the season series from the Yankees for the first time since the 90's. We swept the ALDS. We made history in the ALCS. We made it to the World Series for the first time in 18 years. We can only go up from here.
I am so extremely proud of this team...
Last night was the ice cream, tonight was the hot fudge, Saturday, just SEEING Game One of the 2004 World Series being played in Fenway Park, well...that's the cherry on top.
I'm still in shock...
If we should end up winning the World Series...I don't know what I'll do. Probably cry, shit my pants, and spend six days huddled in my bedroom rocking back and forth saying, "We did it! We did it!" over and over again.
Keep that fucking faith, you bet your ass we still believe!
