Two Ads that Really Suck:
Southwest Airlines' ad with the little girl singing "My Country Tis of Thee". Dear little girl, shut the fuck up.
Heineken's ad for their new slim can, "Can I have it like that? You got it like that!" Can you, also, shut the fuck up?!
Anyway, it's funny, I sometimes forget that people I haven't seen/talked to in a few years don't know that I'm bi. The other day I saw my old elementary/high school pal Julie, who had just gotten married the day before, she'll never read this but, again, congratulations. She asked me if I had a girl, and I had to pause before automatically blurting out, "Nope, no girl, no guy, no nothin!" That might have been awkward.
Speaking of which, are you proud of me for not mentioning at all (in this public a forum, anyway) that yesterday was the four year anniversary of my singledom and involuntary abstinence? Are ya? Huh?
Tomorrow should be fun, goin down to Stoneham to chill with Lisa (raven_goddess
) and her boyfriend Mike and some other folk. Cookout type dealy, birthday for the little'un type-a-thing.
It's now one week til my birthday. I still don't feel like I'm ready to be 25. I don't know what it is about 25, if it's the whole "Quarter Century" thing or what, but it seems so old. I'm too young to be old, dammit!
In other news: The iPhone...why?!
My cell phone...is a phone. It's not a camera, it's not an MP3 Player, it's not really an organizer, it doesn't send emails, it barely gets internet, it doesn't give me superpowers, and it isn't large enough to beat up possible attackers.
It's just...a phone...
Speaking of which, our family plan contract expires on Halloween (I got the phone two years ago Halloween RIGHT before I left for MA to spend the weekend in Jersey with Nycholle [slinky_girl
]), I wonder what kind of fancy "Free Phone (After Rebate)" coups they'll send us to get us to renew.
I really got an urge, earlier, to play an old old ollllllld original PlayStation game called "Power Move Pro Wrestling" Anyone else out there know this game and want to share in the nostalgia with me?
I think what gave me this nostalgia was reading through all the Wikipedia entries of all the WWF, WCW, ECW and WWE video games that have ever been released. I sat here fondly remembering owning every wrestling game ever published in the US for the PSX, including the WCW games, even though I never watched WCW until I got to college (MidNitro, anyone?). I remember playing WCW vs. The World, and Nitro and Thunder, WCW Mayhem (which wasn't nearly as bad as people remember it. It was bad, for sure, but not THAT bad.)
OK, wait, I lie, I never owned WCW Backstage Assault, but there's a dilemma of semantics there. Is a wrestling game really a wrestling game if there's no ring?
Either way I plugged into the Nostalgia machine and tried to quench it by playing some SmackDown this afternoon but, of course, it's not the same.
Just bought two tickets for the WWE House Show in Manchester on the fourth of August. Me and my cousin Dan are going. That should be fun.
Speaking of WWE, I finally made it to the draft episode on my DVR. The match I'm watching right now includes Batista, whose pecs are so square his nipples point downards. That's...slightly fucked up
I guess I should go to bed.
